Belsazar Botanical Garden Terrace at Old Bengal Bar Review

OBBAs part of the D&D London group-wide #BlossomCity17 campaign which began on the 23rd May, Old Bengal Bar transformed the outside terrace into a botanical garden and added a menu of exclusive cocktails using premium vermouth brand, Belsazar.  ONIN London went along and tried four of the Five new cocktails which will be available until the 30th September 2017.

We loved the gorgeous little bar and listening to the jazz band serenading us while we drank our cocktails. Seriously one of the best ways to spend a sunny Friday afternoon.

The Frosé made from Belsazar Rosé, rosé wine, strawberry puree and agave syrup was absolutely lovely. Refreshing and sweet it was the perfect summer drink. Definitely one that I’ll be adding to my list of favourite cocktails.

The Rosé-T was  a refreshing combination of Belsazar Rosé and Fever Tree Tonic. A invigorating twist on a classic Gin and Tonic. It was that good, my friend had to have two of them.

Another favourite of mine was the Vermouth Punch. Belsazar Red, Sparkling Wine and Hibiscus Tea finished with slices of fresh pineapple and orange – it was a flashback to sitting by the beach with a cocktail in hand.

The only let down of the drinks was the Bubble Trouble. Pineapple and oregano-infused Belsazar White with vodka and agavé syrup. Oregano is something that should be reserved for pizza not a cocktail. My friend didn’t mind the drink but for me, it was my cup of tea.

The bar snacks and other cocktails more than made up for our last cocktail. Sweet potato fries, triple cooked chips and Popcorn chicken with sweet chilli dipping sauce. They were all to divine and we gobbled them up in no time at all.

The staff at the Old Bengal Bar were super lovely and watching them serve other staff with the same friendliness we received was a treat.  It wasn’t hard to see why the bar is a popular bar near Liverpool Street Station and we’ll be definitely be recommending The Old Bengal to others.
