Madison Ciroc Winter Terrace Launch

Rooftop bars and January in London don’t usually go together, but the Madison’s terrace bar in St Pauls is proving that you can still enjoy your favourite cocktails outside even in the Winter months. Located directly opposite the iconic St Pauls cathedral, Madisons is a rooftop oasis hidden away amongst a world of brick banks and glass towers. Taking the lift to the top floor at One New Change, St Pauls, the doors opened onto a vast outside bar with a stunning view of the iconic church. Our fears of being stuck outside on an absolutely freezing night were eased when we were guided to our table, with each sitting equipped with it’s own overhead electric heater and blankets. Sat next to the Ciroc bar, the speakers pumped out chilled out dance remixes of some of our favourite classic tracks, providing the perfect back drop for a relaxed Friday night out.

A fairly concise menu, the bar offers some interesting twists on staple classics. We started with a couple of ‘hot bitch martini’s’– Ketel One vodka and passion fruit complimented with red pepper and chilli. A little bit intimidating at first with their chilli garnish, these had a lovely sweet flavour followed by a kick of spice, which was both smooth and instantly warming. Next we opted for the ‘gold rush’, Tequila, pineapple and lime mixed with sage and agave spirit. This is definitely what you would call a lethal cocktail. With sweet notes of sherbet, you would be forgiven for thinking this was a mocktail if it weren’t for the warming taste of the tequila. At this point we thought it was best we get some nibbles to help counteract the booze a little. Usually the term ‘bar snacks’ consists of piddly plates of dried snacks, but the portion sizes at Madisons were anything but small. Ordering the arrancini, the artichoke and green olive tapenade and seeded crackers and the mixed olives, we were rewarded with a feast we simply could not finish! The arrancini was my personal favourite, served with black olive mayonnaise there was the perfect mix of creamy indulgence and smoky flavours that went together wonderfully.

Madison Rooftop Terrace in St Paul’s, combines style, delicious food and killer cocktails whilst boasting one of London’s best views overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral. If you’re looking for a laid back evening in an extravagant setting, with an amazing view and amazing F&B, then this is the ideal place!
