Cocktail Wednesday’s Review

TheGibson

Wednesday the 14th of December 2016, I headed down to Fanny Nelsons in east London for their latest adventure Cocktail Wednesdays. Teaming up with Swedish illustrator and Hackney resident Sara Stode for her exhibition of gorgeous cocktail drawings, Cocktail Wednesdays will be a night to get over all your ‘Hump Day’ woes.

In this stunningly beautiful 1830’s London Pub, which is no longer your grandfather’s pub is a hidden bar in the basement. Available for special tasting events, menu pairing and for private hire, this is one of London’s enchanting hidden cocktail dens.

Dimly lit and with an ambiance reminiscent of the prohibition era, we were extremely impressed with the venue choice for this exhibition. Art galleries can often feel unwelcoming and too bright, so being able to sip cocktails and enjoy Sara’s drawings of cocktails from famous bars around London was an absolute pleasure. Each masterpiece takes Sara up to 13 hours to create and her hard work is paying off.

For the next month, make sure you head down to witness Sara’s artwork or to purchase it yourself, as they are absolutely stunning. Not only is Sara’s artwork on display, Colonel Fox Gin have teamed up with Fanny Nelsons to create some exciting gin cocktails for the event. We may have had a few too many to actually remember what was in these delicious citrus and gin based cocktails, but I can’t gush about them enough.

They have also generously donated a bottle of their gin to give away to one of our lucky readers. To win follow ONIN London on Twitter and tweet both @Cremorne1859 and @OnIn_London with the #colonelfoxgincomp – The competition will run until the 1st of January 2017. So keep entering.
