Cutter And Squidge Review

IMG_8986

Cutter and Squidge, London’s only all natural bakery have just celebrated the first birthday of the opening of their Soho Store. ONIN London was invited down to the celebration and oh what a night. Designer Callum Lumsden (Warner Bros. California, Tate Modern) designed the store and it is extremely enchanting. We spent the evening enjoying Biskies, Cake, Prosecco Bellinis, Cake Truffles and a range of savoury canapes. I’m pretty sure I ate my weight in Biskies and I have no regrets whatsoever. It was also lovely meeting sisters and creators, Annabel and Emily Lui and getting to learn the story behind Cutter and Squidge.

The press release tells the story better than I can and states that ‘Annabel and Emily Lui opened their flagship store in the heart of Soho in September 2015 with the concept of offering the best all natural sweets, handmade with premium ingredients. The baking sisters are theinventors of the Biskie, a one-of-a-kind fusion of biscuit/cookie/cake filled with lightened buttercream that has won London over, and have now a number of sweet treats on their menu, including a range of coveted Dreamcakes. Other items include exclusive vegetarian marshmallows, a range of confectionery, cold and hot drinks, as well as a handmade salted caramel which is the proud recipient of no less than three stars in the Great Taste Awards’.

It’s amazing how far Cutter and Squidge has come from an inspiration evolved from a love of baked goods to celebrating the first birthday of their own store. Cutter and Squidge have something to be proud of and the sisters said they could not have done it without the support and encouragement from friends and family along their journey.

Not only are cakes and other delicacies available to purchase online, Cutter & Squidge also offer an extravagant afternoon tea in store. Plus with the added option of prosecco cocktails which I can attest are delicious. It’s the perfect way to spend the day with your friends, sisters, mothers, grandmas or just the cake lover in your life.  If you head down before the 31st of October, customers can also buy Cutter and Squidge’s Halloween themed treats such as the Choc n’ Bones Biskie and Spooktacular Dreamcake.
