Island Grill Review

Island Grill is a stylish and contemporary restaurant in the Lancaster London hotel, with high ceilings and nice natural light streaming through the windows. It’s one of those restaurants you have to be in the know, making this visit to Island Grill that much more special.

The surroundings and the friendly service was a good first impression. When we sat down, I couldn’t wait to read the menu to see what we were in store for! For the starter we opted for the pan-fried scallops, with puy lentils and a crisp pancetta, the scallops were nice and tender, which complimented the puy lentils nicely.

For the main dish, I opted for the 8oz fillet of beef, ordered medium rare, which was cooked perfectly, nice and tender. We ordered sweet potato wedges, with cauliflower & golden goat’s cheese gratin and spinach as sides to go with the fillet. It was very filling and it took us a while to order in dessert, while we were digesting, it was a great excuse to drink some more processo.

For desert we went for the Chocolate Trio, a dark chocolate fondant, white chocolate & coffee foam and chocolate sorbet. The desert was nice and sweet and hit all the right spots.
