Jazzgir Review

JazzGir20924

Jazzgir is the new Mediterranean-Jazz restaurant on the block and its already getting a lot of attention, I mean Mediterranean food alongside live Jazz music, what’s there not to love? Jazzgir is perfectly located next to a beautiful waterfront in Canary Wharf, offering fine dining at its best, we headed on down to see what all the fuss was about.

The interior is beautiful, it’s modern and elegant with dark wooden features and comfy leather sofas to provide a relaxed dining experience. Head Chef Raffaele Biancareddu who made his name working in some of the finest kitchens in Italy and the UK has curated a menu which celebrates the best of Mediterranean cuisine.

We got a sharing starter of focaccia bread and salami to start. For the main I got the Sea bass, which came with tomatoes and red pepper puree. The dish was beautifully presented, definitely 10 out of 10 and I would happily give the same result for how it tasted! The sea bass was succulent and the red pepper puree gave it a nice juicy kick, it left my taste buds wanting more! The sea bass is a small dish so I high recommend you ordering a side dish or two.

My guest choose the Pappardelle with Rabbit ragu, the handmade pasta tasted fresh and the rabbit was cooked with a rich flavoursome sauce.

The desert menu, currently only consists of Tiramisu and baklava, so of course that’s what we both choose. The Baklava came with strawberries, it was the perfect sweet indulgence to finish off my meal. And priced at £4 I should have asked for some to takeaway! After all you can’t ever have too much baklava, they are small for a reason… so you can indulge in as much as you want! The tiramisu was of a high standard and the coffee lovers out there, won’t be disappointed.

A little birdy did tell us they are working on getting more desserts on the menu, so all you sweet tooth lovers, fear not Jazzgir are on a mission to tantalise your taste buds further, with more yummy desserts!

Live music started at around 8pm that evening, there was a pianist who sang along with two other singers, it created a lively atmosphere which caught our attention throughout the night. This restaurant is decadent and although it’s in Canary Wharf, it doesn’t just tailor to the city boys. The relaxed and luxurious feel it has, is appreciated by all, perfect for a relaxed casual breakfast, post-work dinner or date night with your loved one. We shall definitely be back!
