KuPP Review - ONIN London

Back in Australia, Brunch was always one of those things that the only people present were couples or a group of girlfriends. Here in London, Brunch has definitely become more popular with people from all walks of life and I’ve actually been seeing more guys brunching together lately than usual. Whether this is due to the introduction of more amazing Bottomless Brunch venues, where it’s perfectly acceptable to drink alcohol at 1:00pm in the afternoon or it’s a passing fad, I’m still unsure. I’m leaning towards more the former. Bottomless Brunches are definitely one of things I love about living in London and KuPP definitely have a winner on their hands. Every Saturday and Sunday, between 12noon and 5pm, diners can enjoy not only bottomless Czech Pilsner Krusovice, ‘Aquavit Bloody Mary’ or ‘Scandi Collins’, but unlimited Smorgasbord refills. Plus for only just £30 – this is a total bargain.

Upon our arrival to KuPP, we were shown to our cute little booth overlooking the canal. The view was very charming, even if it was a miserable autumn day on the 12^th of November 2016. We ordered our ‘Scandi Collins’ and the first of our two ‘Bords’, the Fiske. Bord and the KuPP. Bord. The Fiske. Bord contains Homecured Norwegian gravadlax, Atlantic prawn Skagen, home smoked trout, Hansen & Lydersen smoked salmon, Kupp potato salad, roasted beetroot, pickled vegetables, rye bread & Leksands Knacker crispbread. My cousin and I loved this bord, it was so fresh and appetizing. The potato salad and smoked trout were fantastic. It was the lighter option of the three bords available so if you’re after a healthy brunch option, this is definitely the bord to pick.

The KuPP. Bord was my absolute favourite. Containing House smoked pork meatballs, potted rabbit, chorizo sausage roll, Västerbotten cheese, KuPP potato salad, pickled vegetables, sourdough & Leksands Knacker crispbread. OMG, the potted rabbit, the meatballs and the chorizo sausage roll were perfection. After these two bords, we knew we weren’t going to leave KuPP hungry. The food is absolutely wonderful.

We couldn’t go out without trying The Smokin’ Roast. Bord (Smoked fore rib of beef, chive buttered smoked onion, honey smoked beetroot, roasted new potatoes & butternut squash, lingonberry jam & red wine gravy). While the beef was slightly tough and the bord wasn’t as flavoursome as the KuPP. And Fiske. Bords, it still was extremely tasty. I loved the lingonberry jam & red wine gravy with the Kale and roasted potatoes.

Still feeling slightly hungry and given we had plenty of time left on our 90 minutes we ordered another KuPP. And Fiske. Bord. Our eyes were probably too big for our bellies as we couldn’t finish of both these bords but we sure made a large dent on them. In regards to drinks, KuPP is extremely generous with their bottomless drinks and we loved the ‘Scandi Collins’. They were so easy to drink and went down an actual treat to wash down all the yummy food we were enjoying.

After our 90 minute session was up, my cousin and I were lucky to be able to spend an extra hour or so just enjoying the venue and catching up. From talking to the friendly staff, usually KuPP is booked out so others may not be so lucky to be able to just wile away the hours and wait for our extremely full bellies to settle down. I was afraid staff would have to roll us out as we had certainly eaten and drunk to our heart (or stomach’s content). KuPP was definitely the perfect place to spend a Saturday and definitely one to add to your list of Bottomless Brunch Venues. You won’t be disappointed by the food, drinks, service or price.
