Opposites attract in Kentucky style smokehouse HotBox Spitalfields

 Wild Turkey 3rd Edit-5

With their new and original lip-smacking summer menu hotting up the East end district of Spitalfields, HotBox are playing havoc with our tastebuds and pairing barbeque dishes with Wild Turkey bourbon whiskey cocktails. Why do tea and toast when you can do stew and a sexy cocktail? Opposites attract and I like it. Playful and serious MAY JUST BE a better match. Someone has to be a bit more behaved don’t they c’mon please. Otherwise it takes a whole week to recover dunnit?

Authentic American bourbon Wild Turkey and hip eatery Hotbox are bringing the real Kentucky barbeque vibe to East London so if you like your meat meaty, your booze boozey and Kendrick Lamar booming out of your speakers head on over you’ll like it.

We tucked into their traditional Kentucky burgoo crock pot stew (burgoo is a real favourite in Kentucky) and sipped on a ‘Ten Cent Pistol’ cocktail for our starter. What might look like an unusual pairing to the unadventurous diner was verrrry flavoursome. Next on the menu was smoked and spritzed mutton shank with a layered corn bread salad straight out of Kentucky and 18 hour smoked pulled pork drenched in barbeque dripped sauce. Last on the hotlist was the chargrilled pineapple. All the swanky cocktails matched the food surprisingly well…the ‘Fifth Element’ dessert cocktail rings a bell. Vegans I’m sorry you’re officially barred.

The menu is available by reservation only, please call 020 7247 1817 or message [email protected] to book.
