Ping Pong Review

IMG_6271 Ping Pong has established itself in London with nine restaurants and we’re definitely hoping there are more to come. The restaurant is perfect for couples or groups of friends due to the sharing tapas style menu. Currently their new summer menu is inspired as there are a number of refreshing takes on old favourites.

We went and visted the Covent Garden venue for an evening of delicious food and drinks. The menu is extensive and includes popular favourites like Edamame, Prawn Crackers and Vietnamese rice paper prawn rolls.

Of course there are dumplings and these little morsels of food are like gifts from the Gods. Our top choices were the Black prawn dumplings, chicken and cashew nut dumplings and duck and ginger dumplings.

From the new summer menu, we thoroughly enjoyed the Pork tenderloin rice burger sliders (rice burger sliders with black sesame, chilli pork tenderloin, rocket, spring onion, red onion and spicy sesame sauce) and the Crispy duck baos (fluffy white steamed buns, shredded duck, spring onion, cucumber and plum sauce. Both come in serving portions of three, but we recommend getting an extra Bao Bun with your duck. These two new dishes were absolutely to die for and I’m hoping that these will stay on the menu when summer is over.

While waiting for our dessert we washed our meal down with Asian Pimms and Lemon-Grass Sangria. They were deliciously refreshing and the perfect drinks for summer.

Coconut ice cream with added activated charcoal has been all the rage on instagram lately. Not only is it the ice-cream to feed your inner emo soul… it’s also amazingly instagramable and extremely tasty.

We recommend getting in quick as it’s on Ping Pong’s Summer menu so it’ll disappear as soon as the nights begin to get cooler. Hurry up and book a table now.
