Refuge in Manchester Review

Sunday-roast-platter09

Our last stop in Manchester was Refuge which is situated at a gorgeous hotel for a Sunday Roast.  My two friends and I arrived and were seated in the impressive and large dining room. Staff were extremely friendly despite a small mix up with our booking. Luckily it was all sorted out and there was nothing to worry about.

We ordered the Sunday Roast Platter for two. It easily fed the three of us with enough left over for us to take home some leftovers for lunch the next day. When I say the Roast Platter was gigantic, I’m really not over-exaggerating. Succulent half a chicken, piles of roast pork and roast beef on top of a bed of spinach, carrots, potatoes and parsnips. Actually that’s not even all! The platter comes with a side of gravy, cheesy cauliflowers and Yorkshire Puddings!

With out bellies bursting we still managed to fit in dessert. How could we not? It sounded delicious. My friend went with the Sticky Date Pudding. Always a winner! While ny other friend and I went with the Old Fashioned Chocolate Fondue with lots of sweet things to dip. Marshmallows, fruit, churros, macrons and honeycomb! I was in a bit of a sugar coma after all of it. Good thing it was a sharing platter – there was so much food. Refuge does not do things by halves!

Refuge can be found at Oxford St, Manchester M60 7HA. Book a table now.
