Smashbox Full Exposure Palette

Smashbox

I have been desperate to try the Smashbox Full Exposure palette for months and was absolutely thrilled to open it on Christmas morning. I would lie and say that my boyfriend has perfect taste in eyeshadow, but I actually shamelessly begged him for it in a recent trip to Boots. (I’m not really one for surprises.)

As you can see, the palette contains fourteen eyeshadows – seven in matte and seven with a subtle shimmer. This combination is perfect for taking you from day to night, and also contains both cool and warm shades to suit all skin shades. The quality is impressive, with a fantastic colour pay-off and little fall-out. The only shade I have struggled with is M4 (the pale matte in the middle of the bottom row) as it doesn’t show up as well as the other eyeshadows. It works perfectly when applied on top of an eyeshadow primer however, and I’m fairly sure it doesn’t show up as well due to my skin tone.

Although the double-ended brush provided with the palette is incredibly soft to touch and great for a subtle look, I would recommend using a tougher brush if you’re trying to create a smokey eye.

The palette comes with a trial size mascara too, which is really handy for a weekend away. It also includes a little booklet explaining different eyeshadow applications for different eye shapes. I haven’t tried these looks yet myself as I enjoy experimenting with shades myself, but it’s a great idea if you’re looking for inspiration,

Overall I am thrilled with my Smashbox Full Exposure palette.
