Mixed in with all the big city businesses, there is a new opportunity rising in White City. Located on the first floor of the West 12 shopping centre, funded by the Hammersmith & Fulham council, Hammersmith United Charities, White City Big Local and support from Land Securities, Petit Miracle Hub offers rent-free spaces to early-stage entrepreneurs based in Hammersmith and Fulham who either have a registered company or those with a product ready for market who are in need of trading space. The brainchild of Elisicia Moore, the hub gives small businesses the very best chances, connecting social enterprise experts Tree Shepherd with existing communities and organisations with the aim of creating a local enterprise network to support the small businesses.
Throughout the life of the programme, there are on going opportunities to join additional courses with an emphasis on developing business practices. This spring, the Hub re-launched with an exciting new programme. The Start Your Own Enterprise program is already well underway, made up of an 8-week course, and followed by 12 weeks of supported trading for students. The course has been taking entrepreneurs though all the essentials of starting and running a business, plus key principles of business administration including understanding your market, managing money and dealing with customers. There are also additional regular business surgeries, offering an intensive 1-hour sessions focusing on problem solving, advice and goal setting, available to the entrepreneurs six times throughout the 10-month period following the course.
