The Tequila and Mezcal Festival will take place on the 7th and 8th of October at the Old Truman Brewery. An exclusive pub crawl to three of London’s best Mexican restaurants showed us a preview of the event. At Café Pacifico we enjoyed Tommy’s Margritas with Patrón Tequila and a master class with Bruxo Mezcal. I’d be amiss to not mention, Patrón ’s new winter take on the Margarita. Tequila isn’t just for summer with this spicy margarita with dusted chocolate and orange rim. We also sampled delicious tacos which will be available at the festival . Café Pacifico was such a lovely venue where I got to meet the founder and director of Tequila & Mezcal Fest, Eduardo Gomez. He was lovely and made sure we were all happily supplied with Tequila and margaritas.

Next stop was Bario Soho to learn about Casamigos Tequila and Mescal Marcanegra. Supplied with more margaritas and shots of tequila and Mezcal, we knew were going to have a fun night. We d discovered the differences between Tequila and Mezcal. We also had the pleasure of meeting the Mexican Ambassador. The Mexican Ambassador knows his Tequila and Mezcal and taught us the right way to drink it. Gather up some Saliva in your mouth and sip the tequila. It releases the flavour and lets you enjoy the tequila and Mezcal.

Our final stop on the night was Temper Soho where the party continued until quite late. We met more brand ambassadors who will be present at the festival and drank more margaritas. The whole event showcased the Tequila and Mezcal Festival and how it will run at the Old Truman Brewery. At the festival, make sure you try Ancho Reyes Verde and the Agavery Orange. Both spirits were delicious and quite unique in flavor.

The rest of Tequila and Mezcal Festival will showcase the vibrant and rich Mexican culture. It is even endorsed by the Mexican embassy. Tequila & Mezcal Festival is an education and interactive event. They’ll be over 50 of Mexico’s best agave spirits and an opportunity to sample these spirit. Patrón Tequila will also have for the first time at Tequila and Mezcal Festival, a Speak Easy Bar. Expect numerous seminars including ‘What the f**ck is Mezcal?’ and ‘How to make the perfect Margarita’. The currency of the festival is the Mexican Peso. Pounds are exchangeable on the door and redeemable on all drinks and food.
