Carib & Co Brunch ‘Black Minds Matter UK’ charity event – Black Market Place

The current crisis and global Black Lives Matter protests has brought to the forefront the inequalities long faced by those from BAME communities, resulting in the negative impact on physical and mental health. Black Minds Matter UK is one of many dedicated charities providing free professional mental health support and services for Black individuals and their families across the UK.

To support Black Minds Matter UK, BOXPARK has collaborated with food and cultural events group Carib & Co Brunch to host a monthly marketplace for Black-owned British businesses across its London venues. The event aims to raise money for Black Minds Matter UK, with it’s debut event at BOXPARK Wembley gaining overwhelming support with over 150 tickets sold and nearly £700 raised.

The Carib & Co Brunch ‘Black Minds Matter UK’ charity event is back on Sunday 6th September from 11am to 6pm taking place at BOXPARK Croydon. It seeks to celebrate and support creativity and entrepreneurship, providing a platform for black owned businesses to showcase their brands. Designers include: Leanne Creative, EduCup Yourself, KokoKrafts and The Aqua Closet.

In addition to an array of markets stalls where you will be able to buy unique art, textiles and hand crafted accessories, there will be an art exhibition showcasing the talented works from seven up and coming and established UK Black artists and photographers, using art and creative expression to raise awareness on important social and political issues including mental health. Artists include Shakira Lagrin (SLD Cartoons), The Purple Girl, Jade Weir-Reid, Jay Percy, Madison Natasha John, Lison Sabrina Musset and PresTeej.

It’s good to talk, but somethings you can’t communicate with words alone. Empower, celebrate and support black businesses and raise awareness of Mental Health in an afternoon of shopping, solidarity and positive surroundings.

Tickets to the event are free for children and only £3 for adults. Get your tickets here. You can also donate to Black Minds Matter via Instagram @blackmindsmatter.uk
