Zuaya Review

Nestled just a stone’s throw from the elegance of Kensington High Street, Zuaya is more than a restaurant—it’s an unforgettable experience. Since opening in July 2018, this flagship venture by the talented Zandi twins has redefined Latin American cuisine in London, earning its rightful place on the culinary map with accolades like Forbes 30 Under 30 and a coveted spot in the Sunday Times 100. And it’s easy to see why. We visited before going to seeing Cirque du Soleil and given the restaurant was only a short walk from the Royal Albert Hall, it made the perfect choice to have a lovely meal and a few cocktails/mocktails.

Zuaya prices itself on having a bold and inventive menu that celebrates the vibrant flavors of Brazil, Peru, and Mexico—offered in an artful small-plates format designed for sharing. From the first bite to the last, every dish is a love letter to Latin America.

The staff were also really helpful in helping me find out what and what I couldn’t eat I am currently pregnant.

Some highlights of our time for dinner were:

  • The Burrata on Peruvian Corn Cake is a standout starter—delightfully creamy, with a rich base that adds just the right savory kick.
  • Lamb Tacos are pure artistry: slow-marinated lamb melts in your mouth, while purple potato tortillas and smoked pineapple create layers of flavor and texture that surprise and delight.

For mains, the Argentinian Sirloin is a triumph for my friend as it was juicy, charred to perfection, and paired with a house-made chimichurri that’s as vibrant as the décor. I went with the chicken on the evening and was just as impressed.

Dessert lovers, take note: the Dulce de Leche and Coconut Flan is worth saving room for. Creamy, indulgent, and beautifully presented, it’s the perfect finale to a bold culinary journey. And it’s safe for pregnant people to eat so great news for us!

The drinks though is where Zuaya really shined on the night. Signature cocktails like the London to Lima offer a refined fusion of Pisco and lime with a London twist, while the Día de los Muertos packs a fiery, mezcal-infused punch that’s as theatrical as it is delicious. I was really impressed with their mocktail range as well.

Their wine list is just as impressive, with standout selections from South America’s most celebrated vineyards. From the deep reds of Mendoza to crisp whites from Chile’s Maipo Valley, the list is thoughtfully curated and perfectly suited to the menu’s bold flavors.

Whether you’re enjoying an intimate dinner, a lively group celebration, or cocktails late into the night, Zuaya delivers an experience and one not to be missed. Thanks for having us and we will be back!
