    Cock Tavern Review

We found ourselves at The Cock Tavern, a Victorian pub from the outside, but inside, it’s transformed into a modern and stylish pub with a young feel to it. The interior has a 60s-style living room vibe, featuring a circular hanging seat just like the one seen in Austin Powers, which is pretty cool. It’s a ten minute walk from the Chelsea football stadium, a really easy place to find, and serves up a treat when it comes to Sunday roasts. We went last Sunday to try out their roasts, which is served from 12pm. The Sunday roast menu has…

    Black Cow Vodka Review

Last week I attended a press event for another matter and got to meet Rob Fawshaw, an investor for Black Cow Vodka. I was extremely interested in this unique sounding spirit. Vodka from Cow’s Milk? What will they think of next!? The fact street for Black Cow Vodka describes it as ‘made in West Dorset on England’s south west coast, Black Cow is the world’s first pure milk vodka, made from the milk of grass grazed cows and nothing else. Black Cow is an award-winning, super premium, crystal clear vodka with a smooth and creamy character. Milk VodkaTM is the…

LOVE at the National Theatre Review

The premise of LOVE, a new play from Alexander Zeldin is this ‘It’s the run up to Christmas. In a city where over 50,000 households are living in temporary accommodation, three families find themselves without a home. A middle-aged man and his elderly mum, a young family with a baby on the way, a Syrian refugee and a newly arrived woman from Sudan. Strangers. Forced together. No space is personal’. Set in a hostel run by an unknown local authority, the play is confronting, raw, intimate and thought provoking.  The house lights are kept on during the entire performance, so…

    Ginvent Review

The Gin Foundry ‘Ginvent’ is the world’s first gin advent calendar (the clue is in the name). Over the weekend we were treated to a pop-up shop and tasting experience. Visitors were led through the back of independent vinyl specialist Phonica records of Poland St, through an origami basement wonderland (see photo!) through to a spacious yet cosy warehouse-bar space. All gins came with a helpful talk from a brand ambassador about where the gin came from and tasting notes. First up and collected upon entry: Strane– very agreeable, served with clove studded orange. Got things moving nicely but I’ll…

    Si5 Spy Missions

Si5 Spy Missions opened its first site in Cambridge in 2006 and have now opened their fifth site in Croydon. When I received the email to come test out a ‘James Bond Meet Crystal Maze’ experience, I didn’t care that the game is designed for ages six and above, I can certainly tell you us three 30+ year olds enjoyed it just as much or even more than the kids are bound to. We arrived at a large 10,000 square feet warehouse in Croydon on Sunday at 11:00am and were ready to take on a one-hour mission that included a…
