    The Vault’s World Cup Experience

My World Cup coverage led me back to The Vault’s in Waterloo to watch Brazil play Chile in the first last 16 game. I came here for the opening match and it’s been my favourite World Cup venue so far. The Vaults is a huge underground space (30,000sqft) that is used for a variety of events from raves, parties to immersive theatrical experiences like their zombie blitz event. The venue has one huge screen showing the games and plenty of other smaller screens dotted about. They have a table tennis table and fuseball, which we played at half time. A…

How to get away with murder

*** THIS IS NOT ADVICE AND IS OUR COMEDY BLOG, NOTHING IN IT SHOULD EVER BE ACTED UPON *** I decided to murder the Managing Director and frame the Customer Service Supervisor for it. She constantly complains anyway so why not let her see out her final years in a cell? I spread word she’d been trying to seduce the MD, to establish her motive for his murder. A friendly IT guy helped me access her emails and I sent a string of messages professing her love for him. I had these emails deleted, secure in the knowledge that the…

Gelatorino – Covent Garden’s Real Italian Ice Cream Parlour

Ever since I visited Venice as a teenager something has eluded me. Proper ice cream, and I’m not talking Ben & Jerry’s (which is amazing but primarily because is has tasty ‘squidgy surprises’ as my friend says) but the ‘all I want is it in a tub without a cone so I can stuff my face’ real Italian ice cream. However this Italian ice cream abstinence (ahaha I say that like it was a choice) ended today when I visited Gelatorino. I was greeted into the bright and airy parlour by an enthusiastic manager who knew everything gelupo. It is…

    High Society: Dalton Chapter 3

Dalton was an Account Director, which meant he did very little, other than occasional schmoozing. Today he walked an important client along the smoggy Southbank and towards an expensive restaurant, where he planned to rack up as large a bill as possible. It was on the company after all. It was ironic that such a misanthrope would be entrusted with a people person role, or be so effective at it. Dalton walked past a homeless man, Joe, and handed him a crisp £20 note. He only did this to show off to his client, but seeing Joe’s brand new mobile…
