Azzurra Review

I rarely spend much time in and around Chelsea, so walking around on Sloane Square on a sunny Sunday evening was a treat. There were crowds of people outside of all of the pubs and restaurants and when we arrived at Azzurra, it was no different.

A combination of the weather and the decor inside the restaurant straight away made me feel like I was on holiday. To reflect the seafood menu, the restaurant had fishing ropes draped across the ceilings and the large space had a really nice relaxing vibe.

The team were kind enough to give us a lovely bruschetta and a tray of Oysters upon arrival, which extended the feeling of feeling on holiday. We then ordered our starters, accompanied by delicious cocktails: a Watermelon Paloma for him and a tequila and orange cocktail for me. We decided to share the Sea Bass Carpaccio and on the waiters’ recommendation, the Stone Bass Tartare, which I think was my favourite dish of the night. All of the fish was so fresh and the hint of citrus in both dishes made the fish taste even better.

For mains, I decided to stick to the fish theme and tried the Wild Sea Bass with roasted & puree cauliflower, tomato, olives, chilli, garlic and basil and a side of Zucchini fried – both of which were delicious. My husband ordered the Grilled Rump of Lamb, which was cooked perfectly, with a side of lovely roast potatoes.

We even squeezed in desserts – Profitteroles and the Limone: Amalfi lemon with ricotta & white chocolate.

For anyone looking for somewhere to eat good food with a nice atmosphere this summer, I’d highly recommend Azzurra for some of the freshest food around, especially if you’re a seafood fan.

The team has also announced a limited-edition Wimbledon menu that blends one of Britain’s most iconic sporting moments with the relaxed elegance of Italian aperitivo culture. Created in partnership with naturally alcohol-free sparkling wine alternative brand Wild Idol and non-alcoholic aperitif brand Everleaf, the exclusive collection will be available from 27th June to 29th July and features a line-up of tennis-themed cocktails inspired by the rituals of the English summer and reimagined through Azzurra’s coastal
Italian lens.
