Burger & Lobster’s Lobster Smash Burger… A Luxurious Spin on a Smash-Burger Classic
With smash burgers taking over the nation (from Off The Street to Hanbaagaasuuteeki) you would think the trend couldn’t go any further. But Burger & Lobster has proved there is a next level, and it’s rich, messy, refined, and utterly clawsome.
Their new Lobster Smash Burger, the UK’s first-ever of its kind, is a genuine showstopper. Featuring double lobster and prawn smashed patties, slathered in indulgent lobster mayo and piled with crisp lettuce, peppery watercress, tomato, red onion, and a cheeky hint of ranch, it’s everything a smash burger should be… just with an elevated seafood twist. Paired with fries or salad for £20, it’s a decadent but surprisingly accessible treat.
We visited the Mayfair restaurant, and the experience itself was a highlight. Staff couldn’t have been more accommodating: between my twins and my friend’s baby, we essentially had our own little mums’ club tucked into a cosy corner, and the team handled it flawlessly. Especially as my twins were very unsettled at the start of the meal and their pram is huge.
Food wise, starters set the tone beautifully withLobster Bisque, Wagyu Croquettes, and Camembert cheese. Each dish was rich, comforting, and perfectly executed. The Lobster Bisque is served in a bread bowl and that Camembert cheese… they’re must try starters!! The cocktails and mocktails were also top-notch, refreshing without overpowering the food.
The burgers were delicious, though mine was a touch on the burnt side and I do think the ranch dressing isn’t needed… but overall it was still enjoyable, especially with all that luxurious lobster flavour shining through and served with truffle fries. By the end, we were far too full for dessert, but that only gives us an excuse to return.
Overall, Burger & Lobster has taken the smash-burger trend and made it truly unique. The Lobster Smash Burger is indulgent and absolutely worth trying and the warm, family-friendly service in Mayfair made the experience even better.
