Cacao Bean Restaurant and Cafe Review

I’d been highly recommended Cacao Bean in Borehamwood so as soon as we were invited to visit I checked the menu online – and soon realised I was in for a treat.

Cacao Bean Restaurant and Cafe has been open since 2021, with the ethos of sharing ‘coffee moments’ and good food and service, no matter the occasion. Under the backdrop of a cafe vibe restaurant, we were served a selection of tapas style food; all full of colour and packed with flavour.

Everything on the menu sounded amazing, and I could’ve happily ordered it all….

We started off with a cocktail each and whilst the Gin Fizz was delicious, I think the Lychee Martini was one of the best I’ve ever had! For mains, we decided to try a bit of everything and opted to share the Australian Wagyu Steak, Grilled Halloumi (with green herb cashew pesto), Grilled Chicken Satay, Pulled BBQ Chicken Tacos, Crispy Salmon Tacos, Pan Fried Blackened Cod and Crispy Potatoes (with smoked paprika and cumin, roasted red onion, parsley, lemon yoghurt). For dessert, we shared a Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was surprisingly light and felt like the perfect end to our meal.

Every dish we ate was delicious! It was all packed full of flavour and half way through our meal I was already thinking about what I want to eat on my next visit! I loved that everything was colourful and all the flavours took inspiration from around the world, but blended perfectly well together.

As well as an extensive lunch and dinner menu (and some delicious looking cakes at the cafe counter), Cacao Bean also offers catering for events and serves up Sunday Roast and Afternoon Tea – both of which I’ll be going back to try in the new year!
