DalstonFonduta at Acqua7: Review

Cheese lovers everywhere rejoice! Fondue has a sexy, Italian cousin, and it goes by the name of DalstonFonduta.  The stylish Acqua7 wine and aperitivo bar has partnered with independent local producers like Black Hand Food (charcuterie), La Latteria(mozzarella/burrata) and Asterley Brothers (amaro/vermouth) to create the stuff (cheese) dreams are made of.The La Latteriaburrata starter is exceptional and the wait staff are generous and non-judgemental about endless servings of focaccia (from the Dusty Knuckle Bakery).  The main event is the fonduta with truffle oil – and let me tell you there is no better way to spend a cold winter night than submerging unsuspecting crudités in delicious, melted, gooey, cheese.  We managed to find room for  the peach and wine granita before falling into the most wonderful cheese coma.

In terms of drinks for the evening, well I’ve never met a spritz I didn’t like, and Acqua7 has given a wintry twist to my favourite drink. They’ve used AsterleyAmaro and ginger wine to warm up their thirsty guests.

Featuring a different producer each evening, Acqua7 has brought a touch of la dolce vita to the streets of Dalston, and we are grateful for it. Look out for the sweet outdoor terrace at the rear of the bar, which is overdue to become an Instagram sensation.

Upcoming DalstonFonduta events include:

30th November – ‘the cheese one’ – La Latteria

5th December – ‘the vermouth one’ – Asterley Bros

14th December – ‘the meat one’ – Black Hand Food

6.30pm – 10pm, £35 per person and tickets can be purchased via Design My Night
