Flat White gets a VEGEMITE twist for London Coffee Festival

Australia’s most beloved exports – VEGEMITE and the flat white – are being combined for the ultimate taste sensation this May. To mark London Coffee Festival (15th – 18th May), VEGEMITE has teamed up with Aussie-inspired café Farm Girl to launch the Flat Vegemite.

Blending espresso, steamed milk and the deep umami hit of VEGEMITE, it’s a a rich, creamy flat white with a bold, savoury twist. It delivers a flavour combo that is packed with character and is unapologetically Aussie. Vegemite is not only full of flavour, but also a source of B vitamins, so you can feel good while you sip.

This one-of-a-kind cup available exclusively at Farm Girl’s Notting Hill, Paddington and South Kensington cafés during the festival. Rose Hood, Creative Director & Co-Founder at Farm Girl who created the Flat Vegemite recipe, says “The Flat Vegemite is destined to be our new best seller, what a flavour sensation. We can’t wait for customers to level up their coffee game the Aussie way!”

Vegemite has also released their make-at-home Vegemite Flat White as part of a new Aussie-Brit recipe series launching this month. This series will celebrate British and Australian classics but reimagined with the unmistakable punch of Vegemite. From traditional dishes to café staples, VEGEMITE is turning heads and tickling tastebuds with unexpected mash ups that go way beyond toast.

As an Aussie who loves Vegemite and coffee, I’m very curious to try this Aussie twist on the classic coffee.

Ingredients:

20g Ristretto (double shot of espresso)

One Teaspoon of VEGEMITE

150ml hot milk (preferably steamed)

Method:

Pull a 20g double ristretto shot.

Stir in one teaspoon of VEGEMITE until fully dissolved.

Top with 150ml of hot milk, finishing with a thin layer of foam.

Optional: serve with hot buttered toast for dipping.

Vegemite can be found in the UK at Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Ocado and will soon be coming to Sainsbury’s.
