Acclaimed British-Nigerian artist and designer, Yinka Ilori MBE, transforms Fulham Pier’s riverside boardwalk, with an immersive installation that celebrates the stories past and present of Fulham’s identity and communities. Drawing inspiration from objects found in and around the neighbourhood as well as its local flora and fauna, Ilori’s 100 Found Objects represents a fountain of history and vessels for stories and hidden pasts that Ilori reframes through a contemporary lens.
Speaking to the soul of Fulham, Ilori’s 100 Found Objects is designed to bring people together, through experiences and culture. Spanning the full length of Fulham Pier, key elements are located at the Hammersmith and Putney entrances, on the building’s façade, as well as along the glass balustrades, framing the new boardwalk and the backdrop of the river Thames. The artwork also includes lenticular panels that shift and move with the viewer’s perspective, with a 3D element bringing to life the objects within a floral landscape inspired by Fulham’s rich heritage of craftsmanship and cultivation.
Fulham Pier is now open for visitors to savour culinary delights from Riverside Market’s exciting vendors ahead of the opening celebration weekend including Mumbai-favourite Goila Butter Chicken, Tinie Tempah’s Raps and hailing from Oxford, Slice and Dice Pizza.
