Gaucho Hampstead Review

Whilst there are so many small business and local restaurants to visit in Hampstead, we were invited to visit Gaucho, and were impressed to see the quality you’d expect in central London available on the high street.

From the outside, the restaurant looks quite small, but they have a lovely hidden terrace outside which was the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of Rose in the sun before our dinner.

You never know if the English weather will stay dry throughout the whole mean, so we decided to move indoors for our mains. I was spoiled for choice with the starters and snacks available, so we ordered Cheese & Truffle Croquettes, Spiced Scallops (for him) and Tuna Tartare (for me).

I was overwhelmed at which steak to choose, so the staff were really helpful in deciding what to order and which sauce and side to pair with. We ended up ordering a Rump and a Fillet Steak, with sides of Sauteed Spinach, Creamy Mashed Potato and Chips. I also ordered the Malbec Sauce for my steak, which was rich and indulgent.

We didn’t order dessert, but if and when I next visit I’ll definitely be trying the Chocolate Brownie with White Chocolate Ice Cream – yum!

There are several branches of Gaucho in and around London and on weekdays, they also offer a great vale set menu for £17.95 for two courses and £19.95 for three courses, from 12-4pm.
