Quaglino’s

The iconic London institution Quaglino’s is celebrating 90 years in style with a brand new cocktail menu. If you’ve lived in London and consider yourself a foodie Quaglino’s is a must. Everything about the restaurant is iconic. From the majestic staircase, the delicious food, the history and the famous guests that attend, it has everything a restaurant should strive for.

To celebrate their 90th year and a brand new cocktail menu the team at Quaglinos bar hosted a one night only bar experience with four bars that were all part of Asia’s 50 Best bars. Hope & Sesame was the first “speakeasy” bar in Guangzhou, Mixology Salon’s is one of Tokyo’s best and the evening ended into the late hours of the night with Atlas Bar and Hong Kong’s COA bar. Ready for an iconic birthday, Quaglinos was dressed the part with confetti, balloons and of coarse glamorous guests.

The new bar menu named ‘I Wish’ has a cocktail for any dream one may have. My personal favorite was I wish….. There was a Gender Equality cocktail, which is a mix between a pina colada and a negroni. Every cocktail has unique ingredients with a perfect blend of flavor and alcohol.

The menu also includes food including caviar, oysters with parmesan and truffle fries, vegetable crudité, crispy calamari and pulled lamb shoulder sliders that melt in your mouth. Along with the excessive bar experience, Quaglinos brought down the house with music from the past including hits from Whitney Houston, the Jackson 5 and Motown favorites.

Quaglino’s opened in 1929, at the height of American prohibition and patronised by the Mountbattens, King Edward VIII and Evelyn Waugh in the 1930s, the restaurant has been a celebrity and royal family favorite. From Princess Diana sneaking in through the restaurant kitchen, to being the first restaurant the Queen visited as a monarch, the Mayfair restaurant is as glamorous as it gets.
