Shuk Borough Market Review
On a sunny Sunday afternoon, I found myself in Borough Market and was overwhelmed by the amount of different cuisines and traders on offer.
I was straight away drawn to Shuk, a stall inspired by Tel Aviv and the owner’s childhood memories of family, pita, spices & tahini. They have a selection of salads on their menu alongside the fluffiest pitas; all stuffed with meat and veggie options.
I ordered the Chicken Shawarma pita, which was jam packed full of meat and salads, and tons of flavour. We also ordered the Sabich, which is a vegetarian’s dream. Golden roasted aubergine is served with a hard boiled egg and various salads, all served in a pita. They also had fresh daily salads that could be served with some of the pita proteins (ie chicken, beef brisket or lamb meatballs), including a delicious looking cauliflower salad and one grain based salad.
They also serve chocolate babka for dessert, so I definitely need to go back for a sweet treat one day…
For a taste of fluffy pita packed full of flavour, head straight to Shuk on your next visit to Borough Market!
