The Distillery Bankside Review
I recently stayed at Hilton London Bankside and was invited for dinner at The Distillery; a hidden gem in the hotel blending a cocktail and gin bar with tasty food.
We arrived on a Sunday night, and the bar and restaurant had a really nice bustle to it, with tables filled with couples and small groups having both food and drinks.
The Distillery serves over 100 different gins and a signature G&T list, but we decided to order a classic Bramble and a Love-In-Idleness; a blend of vodka, lychee liquer and passionfruit liquer and syrup, topped with Prosecco and Edible Glitter.
Despite being primarily a cocktail bar, the food menu was extensive, and gave us plenty of choice. We starter with the Mini Vegetable Samosas and Soy & Sesame Chicken Wings, which were ideal bites whilst we decided on our mains.
My eyes are usually bigger than my stomach, so I sensibly ordered a Superfood Salad (quinoa, feta, broccoli, avocado with toasted seeds, dried apricots and a tasty vinaigrette) with grilled chicken breast. My other half wasn’t so sensible, and had a Grilled Sirloin Steak with chips; which definitely gave me fomo – so I ordered my own portion of chips too!
Instead of dessert, we both opted for a nightcap instead, and a Baileys on ice was the perfect end to a lovely meal!
