The Folly’s ‘La Petite Provence’ Pop-Up Wine Bar
The Folly’s new pop Wine Bar ‘La Petite Provence’ is a sight to behold. Having never visited The Folly before I was expecting the bar to be situated outside and with London having a cooler spring, I was a bit apprehensive. Upon entering the bar which is situated near Monument Station I was pleasantly surprised that they have recreated a garden pergola inside the restaurant. The small space transports you into a spring evening in the south of France. Definitely cheaper than a flight to the south of France and it’s a lovely venue to escape to for after work drinks.
La Petite Provence encourages guests to sample a Rosé Flight for £9.95 and consists of four 75ml glasses of wine. With Rosé wine being my preferred wine, I was one happy girl with this option. Three separate Petite Plates for £9.95 (wine with bread and its perfect food accompaniment) is also available for guests to enjoy.
Finally La Petite Provence offer guests a unique spin on your regular everyday wine tasting with the Sensory Wine Tasting Session. As a guest for the night I was able to sample two of the wines available on the experience. I’ve been to a lot of wine tasting events over the years in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe and America and this was something that I never seen before. Guests are blind folded to encourage your sense of smell and taste to ‘step up their game’. Being blind folded to try different wines and food is a strange feeling but one I can’t recommend enough. And at £18.95 for 6 glasses of wine or £22.95 with food, you can’t even complain about the price. This wine experience must be pre-booked.
My night spent at La Petite Provence was such an enjoyable experience, I have already recommended it to friends and family. Perfect for after work drinks, date night or a catch up with friends this venue is going to be a hit. Actually the entire venue is impressive and my friend and I are also keen on heading to The Folly for dinner in the near future. La Petite Provence is only around for the next four months before The Folly convert the space into another exciting area so don’t miss out.
