Now Open: The Green Parlour, a Botanical Lounge serving Breakfast and Afternoon Tea at The Royal Horseguards Hotel in the Heart of Whitehall
A brand new spot has arrived in central London: The Green Parlour, a botanical-inspired lounge now open at The Royal Horseguards Hotel that feels like a quiet garden escape set within one of the capital’s most historic hotels. Tucked between the Thames, Embankment and some of London’s most recognisable landmarks, it offers a place to slow down, relax and savour something special.
The Green Parlour brings a fresh, contemporary softness to the building’s Victorian architecture, creating a bright and uplifting environment that moves throughout the day. Whether you’re starting your morning with coffee and pastries or settling in for a long, indulgent Afternoon Tea, the atmosphere remains warm, elegant and unmistakably London.
The Green Parlour will serve up decadent Afternoon Tea and Breakfast menus for both hotel guests and visitors. The Afternoon Tea, priced at £60 per person, celebrates delicate flavours and seasonal produce, beginning with a refined selection of sandwiches. Highlights include beetroot-cured smoked salmon layered with lemon-parsley cream cheese; peppered pastrami paired with a bright, zesty mustard aioli; a silky truffled egg mayo with chives on buttery tomato bread; and a fresh, garden-inspired combination of minted ricotta and cucumber ribbons.
Warm scones follow, in both traditional plain and a fragrant star anise and orange zest variation, served with raspberry and blackberry organic preserves and a generous helping of Cornish clotted cream. The sweet course brings the Afternoon Tea to its most whimsical moment, drawing inspiration from London’s beloved parks. A creamy lavender-kissed cheesecake nods to the calm of Primrose Hill; a glossy chocolate éclair echoes the classic elegance of Hyde Park; a spiced choux bun topped with gold leaf captures the quiet grandeur of Green Park; and a pineapple-and-yuzu entremet pays tribute to the serenity of Holland Park’s Kyoto Garden.

Guests can also enjoy a curated drinks selection, from botanical-inspired cocktails like the floral Lychee on the Heath and the peach-bright Regent’s Breeze to a refreshing non-alcoholic Green Parlour Spritz. English sparkling wines, including Louis Pommery and Henners, sit alongside a wide choice of artisan loose-leaf teas, coffees and fresh juices, offering something for every moment of the day.
Mornings at The Green Parlour bring a line-up of comforting favourites and modern classics, from crushed avocado on sourdough and truffle-topped eggs benedict to creamy berry porridge and a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel for a more savoury start. Those with a sweet tooth can opt for fluffy pancakes with maple syrup and blueberries, and the hearty Royal Horseguards Breakfast Doorstep is a true crowd pleaser. The in-house bakery adds an irresistible finishing touch with buttery croissants, almond pastries and chocolate-rich pain au chocolat, all best enjoyed alongside freshly brewed coffee, speciality teas or cold-pressed juices for a calm and nourishing start to the day.
The opening of The Green Parlour brings a fresh and uplifting addition to the iconic Royal Horseguards Hotel, introducing a contemporary dining space that complements the building’s historic character. Its calm, garden-inspired design and thoughtfully crafted menus add a new layer of charm to this Westminster landmark, offering guests an elegant and laid back spot to unwind and enjoy good food. With even more exciting developments planned for 2026, The Green Parlour is the first of several thoughtful updates set to enhance the hotel’s guest experience.
