Wes Anderson Comes to Soho: Film Nights, Cocktails & Live Talk at W London

This May, W London launches a new Wes Anderson-inspired programme in partnership with the Design Museum, celebrating its Wes Anderson: The Archives exhibition (on until July 2026). Bringing the cinematic world off-screen and into Soho, the line-up spans weekly film screenings, a design-led cocktail menu and a one-night-only launch event featuring a live talk with Annie Atkins – the celebrated designer behind some of Anderson’s most iconic films, including the Grand Budapest Hotel.

W Film Club: Wes Anderson Screenings

Taking place in W London’s private screening room, just off Leicester Square, the hotel will host weekly Wes Anderson film screenings every Saturday throughout May. Tickets include popcorn, with the option to add a cocktail from the hotel’s new Anderson-inspired menu. Screenings take place at 7pm on the following dates:

The Grand Budapest Hotel – Saturday 9 May
Fantastic Mr. Fox – Saturday 16 May
Moonrise Kingdom – Saturday 23 May
The Darjeeling Limited – Saturday 30 May

Tickets start from £10 for film and popcorn, or £19 including a cocktail.

The Director’s Archive Cocktail Menu

At The Perception Bar, W London has also launched The Director’s Archive, a playful cocktail menu created in collaboration with Annie Atkins, the designer behind the graphic worlds of The Grand Budapest HotelIsle of Dogs and The French Dispatch. Each drink is inspired by a fictional character from an imagined Anderson-style script, including:

The Bellboy – Cognac, Cointreau, peach liqueur, elderflower, lemon and Champagne
The Prison Guard – Grapefruit and rosemary-infused Tanqueray with pineapple, lemon and sugar
The Fixer – Italicus, prosecco, soda and olive brine
The Detective – Amaretto Disaronno, Antica Formula, sour cherry and chocolate bitters

Guests can also collect a complimentary Library Card, designed by Atkins, which can be stamped as they work their way through the menu.

One-Night-Only Launch Event with Annie Atkins

On Wednesday 13 May, W London will host a one-night-only launch event beneath Europe’s largest disco ball, featuring a live conversation between Annie Atkins and Johanna Agerman Ross, Chief Curator at the Design Museum.

The discussion will explore how graphic design, props and visual storytelling help shape some of cinema’s most recognisable worlds. Guests will also receive a signature Wes Anderson-inspired cocktail or mocktail, tickets to Wes Anderson: The Archives at the Design Museum, access to a W Film Club screening, and entry into an exclusive hotel prize draw.

Tickets cost £25 and are available to both hotel and non-hotel guests. Press tickets complementary.
