Yeah! Burger @ The Strongroom Shoreditch
Writing this article makes me super happy. Do you know why? Well two things:
1) I’ve gotten to eat some delicious burgers, and
2) The Yeah! Burger love is spreading.
This time the guys are creeping central and have popped up in Shoreditch’s The Strongroom. A gorgeous shabby chic pub with a beautiful climbing ivy beer garden out back.
We plopped down on a couple of comfy sofas and browsed the Jeni Sparks (jennisparks.com/) adorned menus (one of London’s best artists!). However we thought we would give Yeah! a challenge. Not feeling like a conventional meat burger, it was a fish and veggie option (spiced root veg quinoa, lentil and chickpea patty, cheddar, mint and cucumber labneh) for us. Plus some of their AWESOME truffle oil, mushroom salt and smoked Yeah! sauce fries; the ‘Eat Your Greens’ salad (grilled baby gem lettuce, quinoa, avacado, kim chi, sprouted greens and chopped salsa); plus a cheeky side of guacamole.
The burgers were pretty lush. Not quite as intricate as some of their other concoctions (e.g. Their reindeer burger topped with chestnut purred and chilli brussels sprouts) but still a darn good eat. The fish was encased in a crispy delicately seasoned batter ad actually contracsted the spicy lentil burger layered with tabneh sauce (which had a lovely consistency) really well. However the fries were DIVINE. Oh gosh we could have kept going alllll day. The guac was really creamy however sadly the beautiful mint element of their Star of Kings portion was missing! The salad added a nice healthy balance to our dinner with the kim chi packing a stand out flavoursome punch.
But don’t worry you can still get your hands on their famous scotch egg burgers too!
It was then time for a chill listening to the likes of Europe, The Beatles and Nena’s 99 Red Balloons; blissfully unaware of the dark and rainy autumn evening outside. The staff were absolute babes. Nothing was too much, and we had lovely chats about how the season change from summer to autumn is great. Sooooo jolly!
A blimin’ great feast by anyone’s standards Yeah! Burger are still killing it on the burger scene. We are looking forward to some more of their themed menus (Halloween, Christmas) where the nosh is always innovative, intricate and knocks your socks off!
