Rooftop Film Club

If this week’s sunshine has you itching for some summer activities, you’ll be delighted to hear that July’s Rooftop Film Club programme is looking exceptionally strong, with 3 special events turning the cinematic experience up a notch.

Landing at Peckham’s Bussey Building, Rooftop Film Club plays host to Little White Lies for an early bird preview of the smash hit The Souvenir on July 11th teamed with the added excitement of a surprise guest. 16th July offers a special Untogether screening with an exclusive Q&A with the brilliant writer/director Emma Forrest. For those ‘die’-hard movie fan’s out there, then you can’t miss A Train to Busan on July 14th at the Bussey Building. Tickets include the chance to get ‘zombified’ by a special effects expert pre-screening.

Taking the show on the road, the screenings will also take place at the Queen of Hoxton. July 22nd will see the Shoreditch based rooftop transformed into a Mexican themed paradise for the sizzling screening of Nacho Libre. Did someone say tequila? There will also be a not-so-seasonal viewing of Tim Burton dark kidult-hood classic – A Nightmare Before Christmas on July 16th, as well as Toy Story 4, Spirited Away, Disney’s live-action Aladdin and a sing’a’long version of Disney’s Frozen on July 25th.

No cinema trip is truly complete without the accompanying snacks, and the team are intending to offer ones matching the summery setting. Headline sponsor, extrême, will be handing out indulgent ice creams at 150 screenings with additional mouth-watering brand experiences throughout the season. Available in four indulgent flavours, each cone features a core of smooth sauce, enclosed in a layer of two ice cream flavours, and coated with a crisp wafer shell. Topping extrême is a spiral of delicious ice cream, an intense layer of thick sauce and crunchy biscuit pieces

There is of course the obligatory savoury option, but what’s on offer is a step up from your standard bag of popcorn. Guest will be given the opportunity to feast on burger and hotdog delectables, along with sumptuous salads at Rockadollar on the roof at Bussey Building. On site bars will be open at all locations, so you can wash all those treats down with a refreshing cocktail or ice cold beer.
