The Ten Coolest Things to Do in London This Week (16th–23rd July)
From supper clubs to a Thai culture takeover by Tower Bridge, London’s calendar this week has something for every kind of curious. Here’s what’s worth your time.
1. Duchy x Paddy Maher Shoreditch’s Duchy – the Phipp Street restaurant from Alex Grant and chef Simon Shand, set in the former home of Leroy – takes its inspiration from the Duchy of Savoy and the shared food culture of the French-Italian border. On 19th July, it hosts an exclusive one-off dinner in collaboration with Irish chef Paddy Maher, bringing together two distinct culinary traditions for one night only. Don’t miss out!

2. Kids Eat Free at INKO NITO The unconventional Japanese robata-yaki spot from the ROKA team is running a daily Kids Eat Free offer at lunch and dinner throughout the summer holidays, for children under 7. Expect cucumber and avocado maki, Japanese fried breadcrumb chicken with furikake rice, and vanilla ice cream to finish – an easy win for anyone dining with little ones this summer.

3. The Wahaca Caesar Mexican restaurant Wahaca has teamed up with cult sandwich spot Crunch on a limited-edition Wahaca Caesar (£12.50) – ancho-rubbed chicken thigh, avocado, baby gem, pickled onion, Caesar dressing and tortilla strips in toasted brioche, riffing on the Caesar salad’s lesser-known Tijuana origins. Available throughout July and August at Crunch’s Soho and Spitalfields sites, and on Deliveroo – every order comes with a coaster redeemable for a free margarita at Wahaca. Bonus!

4. Good For Her! at The Other Palace A darkly funny multimedia play about ambition, womanhood and the gap between curated Instagram lives and reality, following an actor’s stalled career and the question of how much of yourself you sacrifice for a seat at the table. Directed by Kayla Stokes, it runs 21st–26th July.
5. Cocktail Masterclass at The Chimney Lift, Battersea Power Station A new masterclass series in partnership with Pérola Cocktail Bar sees guests learn to make three bespoke cocktails inspired by Battersea’s industrial heritage, all while taking in 360° views of the London skyline from inside the iconic chimney. £54pp, with dates on 16th and 23rd July (plus 30th July and 6th August), led by Head Bartender André Bertolo.
6. Orion by Alex Webb x Lanson Champagne A one-night-only tasting menu on 23rd July sees chef Alex Webb pair British produce – think Tamworth ham, black cod with caviar, and honey-miso glazed pork – with rare cuvées from the House of Lanson, including a mystery vintage exclusive to the evening. £180pp, with an optional cheese course for £20.

7. American Whiskey Tasting at The Whisky Exchange A relaxed, guided tasting through five American whiskeys with one of The Whisky Exchange’s resident experts, ideal whether you’re whiskey-curious or ready to move beyond bourbon. Thursday 16th July, 19:30–21:30, Covent Garden, from £38.

8. Babur x Horniman Museum: Together In Bloom Forest Hill institution Babur marks the Horniman Museum’s 125th anniversary – and its own 41st birthday – with a hyper-local menu inspired by the museum’s gardens. Highlights include a crispy filo-coated spiced hung yoghurt kebab and tandoori rack of lamb with wild thyme and catmint jus, alongside botanical cocktails like the Summer Violet Bloom. A preview tasting dinner runs 16th July, with the full menu available 17th July–20th September.

9. Thailand Showcase 2026 A three-day celebration of Thai culture at Potters Fields Park by Tower Bridge, running 17th–19th July. Expect certified Thai SELECT food and products, Muay Thai exhibitions, craft, dance and fashion – a must for food lovers, martial arts fans and the culturally curious alike.

10. Hanbaagaasuuteeki’s First Birthday Celebrate one year of Victoria’s cult Japanese burger spot by ordering from its secret menu, available exclusively as part of the anniversary celebrations. Expect off-menu specials, signature Japanese-inspired burgers and plenty of surprises from one of London’s most exciting independent openings of the past year – a must for burger obsessives and anyone looking to discover something beyond the usual menu.
