Frites Atelier Review
This weekend, we decided to brave the cold and wet weather to go shopping on Oxford Street and after perusing the shops, needed somewhere to rest our legs and fill our stomachs. Frites Atelier couldn’t have been more perfect!
Frites Atelier, the gourmet Dutch Frites brand founded by three-time Michelin-star chef Sergio Herman, has just opened its first UK restaurant on 34 Old Compton Street, Soho, serving loaded fries, croquettes, sauces, and bold flavour combinations.
The Soho menu features four signature Frites Specials, including:
- Flemish Beef Stew: rich, slow-cooked and deeply savoury
- Parmesan & Basil: aromatic, bright and indulgent
- Sea Nori: Spicy and crispy
- Cheddar Supreme: Seasonal Special
We opted to try the Parmesan & Basil and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious and moreish the basil mayo was! We also ordered both a cheese and a beef croquette to share (both of which melted in the mouth) and a Korean Chicken Burger and Chicken Bites. All the food was packed full of flavour and tasted really fresh. The laid back but welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant was also perfect for a casual meal and a chit chat.
To top it all off, diners can choose from standout sauces including:
- Truffle
- Andalouse
- Béarnaise
- Basil Mayo
- Plus additional house classics
To round out the experience, Frites Atelier Soho also serves a curated drinks list, from beer and wine to espresso martinis, spicy margarita, and more, perfect for pairing with late-night snacks. With doors open until 12am, it’s designed for all of Soho’s revellers, from early-evening diners to post-club snack hunters.
The food didn’t disappoint and since my visit, so many people have asked where I got the chips from on my Instagram stories. Frites Atelier really is the perfect spot for fries lovers!
