A Spirited Summer Soirée: Renais x Quaglino’s at Cocktails in the City
Here at Onin.London we love Cocktails in the City and this July saw 20 of London’s most iconic bars in a dazzling pop-up celebration and one partnership truly stood out: Renais Gin x Quaglino’s.
We attended on 12th July for the Saturday evening course and were treated to the Renais partnership with the legendary Quaglino’s to try the four beautifully crafted cocktails, created exclusively for the festival. These serves perfectly captured the refined spirit of Renais Gin and proved a hit with festivalgoers. Each cocktail was delicious and it’s no surprise..x I mean they paired with Quaglinos! It’s also one of our favourite bars and restaurants in London… so there was no way they could do wrong!
Established in May 2023 by siblings Alex and Emma Watson, Renais is carving a new path in the world of craft gin, a blend of family, star-power and industry acumen. Its provenance born from two generations of Watson family wine making at the family’s Domaine Watson vineyard in France, the name Renais means ‘Rebirth’ in French, a nod to its distinct French winemaking heritage and culture.
Visitors had the chance to meet the passionate Renais team, who were on hand to share the story behind the gin, explain the inspiration for the new serves, and dive into the details of their exciting partnership with Quaglino’s. Their presence added a warm, personal touch to the experience which made it more than just a tasting, but a true celebration of expert craftsmanship. Our writers Dwayne and Jaynita said they loved meeting the staff, who were welcoming, friendly and the banter was on point!
Those who made their way to Quaglino’s itself were treated to a fifth exclusive cocktail, only available at the iconic venue. Served in the opulent surroundings of Quaglino’s bar, this final creation was the cherry on top of an already unforgettable experience. This is available til the end of July so make sure you visit before the end of the month!
July’s Renais x Quaglino’s collaboration was a highlight of Cocktails in the City so a perfect blend of flavour, flair, and festive spirit. For those lucky enough to attend, it was a month to remember and a toast to the best of London’s cocktail scene.
