Abel Heywood in Manchester Review
During our escape to Manchester a couple of weeks ago, we popped in for a drink at the Abel Heywood. This bar, restaurant and hotel is huge. Unfortunately it was a fully packed weekend so we couldn’t have a complete tour of the boutique hotel. Though if it’s anything as lovely as the restaurant and bar, it’s bound to be gorgeous.
We met Liv, one of the hotel managers and sat down for a drink with her while she told us all about the Abel Heywood. There’s lots happening there at the moment with weekly quiz nights and Murder Mystery Nights. It was all pretty impressive and we we’re disappointed to hear we’d missed out on a Murder Mystery Night the day before.
Our cocktails were lovely. I had the Blackberry Cairprinha (Brazilian Cachaca rum, lime, sugar and muddled blackberries), however, it is the gin and tonic menu that is really something special. Featuring 25 gins and more to come, we were certainly impressed with the selection. They even had some of my favourites. Silent Pool Gin, Ophir Gin, 3 Rivers Gin and Deaths Door.
Make sure you pop in to the Abel Heywood for drinks, food (it looks and sounds amazing) andsome good times. The regular themed quizzes, hosted by the ladies at Quizzly Bears sound like a great laugh and draw in crowds between 70-120 people per night. We may just have to escape back to Manchester to try one.
