APPLETON ESTATE 'FROM JAMAICA WITH LOVE x 'White Men Can't Jerk' at Campari review

A night in the Caribbean. Except swap the beach with a view from the shard – on the 20 something floor. A friendly crowd of people that know their rum. It takes me back to Barbados earlier this summer when I spent the day at a rum tour. It was so, so good. There’s nothing more delightful than discovering exotic tasting beverages and mingling amongst people who share similar taste buds to yours!

We were firstly introduced and told about the history of Appleton Estate Rum. As described on the wesbite, Appleton Estate Rum is: “nestled in the Nassau Valley, is a glorious and fertile land located in the heart of Jamaica. At the Appleton Estate, the production of our beautifully complex and aromatic rums is not just a passion—it’s a craft.” – and indeed it was!

I’m a bit of a light weight so didn’t indulge too much, but I must say the range of flavors just made me want to go back and explore more of the Caribbean!

White Men Can’t Jerk made such wholesome, scrumptious food with a cheeky bit of spice; you can’t go wrong! They have a pop-up in White City where you can try more of their yummy Caribbean inspired food. They pride themselves on their wholesome flavours and produce high quality food showing their love of all things Caribbean with a twist, bringing you bold flavour combos and feel good vibes.

“Think Curried Mutton Shepherd’s Pie with a sweet potato mash topping, moreish Red Stripe poached Fried Chicken Wings or our signature Jerk Chicken cooked on our custom made beautiful smoking grill, Tallulah. Looking after the herbivores, we have dishes like Jerk Bean Burgers, Jerk Halloumi and Tobago Casserole in our repertoire.” – makes me want to try more!

Stunning views, great drinks, cocktail making, good food, history, and good conversation! My kind of night.
