Bottega 35 Review

I don’t spend a lot of time around High Street Kensington, but ventured out in that direction on a Thursday evening for dinner at the newly opened Bottega 35.

Bottega 35 is an Italian tavern off the high street, serving simple but perfectly cooked Italian dishes. Every dish tells a story and the menu features fresh, organic ingredients in homemade pasta and perfectly grilled dishes, paired with wines from across the Italy and house cocktails.

I loved the atmosphere and the restaurant vibe – relatively casual for a midweek dinner, but with a bit of a spark. I opted for a refreshing Hugo Spritz and my OH ordered a signature Bottega Fizz; made with Rum, Blue Curacao and Passoa.

We were a bit spoiled for choice for food (I fancied all of the starters and nibbles!) but decided to share the Taleggio Arancini with mushroom and the House Foccacia with mozzarella and onion. Next time I’d love to try the Fried Zucchine and Bruschetta too!

I love a good bowl of pasta, so straight away went to the Black Truffle Parmesan Wheel; and it didn’t disappoint. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the truffle and cheese was rich but full of flavour. I also tried some of my OH’s Lamb Cutlets, which were grilled with rosemary and olive oil and we ordered them with really moreish crispy oven-roasted potatoes.

The dessert menu also had a series of Italian classics such as Tiramisu, Gelato and Pistachio Cheesecake but we decided to order the Cannoli. The portion was generous and inside the crispy pastry was a thick smooth cream; it was the perfect way to end our meal!
