BREACH!!! 12hrs of Cutting Shapes
On Sunday 28th April I went to Breach! Which was a 12 hour House Music Party.
I am not a major fan of House music so I wasn’t sure what to expect but being a fan of dancing I was more than willing to give it a try. The event was held in Cargo Club in Shoreditch, so straight away you can assume this was going to be a very trendy party. So my first mission was what outfit to wear?? After completing that part of the mission I got to the venue around 6 pm to be greeted by a very loooooong queue! and I expected this may happen because I thought most people would arrive around this time. What amused me was the outfits that I saw as people queued, very quirky, bright and expressive.
Upon entering I was impressed straight away with the party vibe. People danced from the moment they entered the club. “Cutting Shapes” is the phrase used for this type of dance as the moves were elaborate and space was needed to execute them. Many people of all ethnicities were enjoying themselves and you would often bump into someone by accident, which would then turn into a little dance off with them. #GOODTIMES!!
To my surprise there was a lot of space as many people were in the queue. I later found out that people had been queuing for up to an hour and half!! This was because the security claimed they did not have enough staff and were letting people in slowly.
Drinks were not cheap and after a certain time the prices were going to double! The cost of rum and coke was £7, just to give you an idea. There were 2 rooms and a nice outdoor area to socialize eat/drink and dance, and the weather was lovely. There was a grill outside cooking burgers costing £5, which would be needed for energy after cutting shapes on the dance floor for a few hours.
After reluctantly leaving at 8pm due to another commitment I had that evening I was trying to plan how I could return before the party ended. However due to the insufficiently staffed security the queues continued to take long to go down, which then resulted in people breaking in through a back gate. The party soon after got shut down due to the commotion.
I would definitely give this party 4/5 stars and would recommend that people who enjoy music with a good beat, dancing and a good vibe should go to the next Breach party, please look out for the Recommends soon for the new date in August. If it was not for the security messing up the entry this party would have received a full 5 star rating from me!
