A new survey commissioned by Gusbourne has revealed that over 60% of Britain’s will be purchasing English sparkling wine this festive season, signalling a boost for home grown wines.

Gusbourne’s survey also showed that most English sparkling wine-drinkers choose the Pogues’ Fairytale of New York over all the classic Christmas hits, while Prosecco-drinkers opt for Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You an impressive 46% of those surveyed picking this song and with both being the most popular choices for preparing the Christmas meal.

The song guaranteed to get people dancing during the festive period was Wizzard, I wish it could be Christmas Every Day with nearly a quarter of those surveyed picking this as their top tune. Bubbles are the go to choice for a festive reveller too with 50% of the drinks in the top 10 beverages being carbonated with 1 in 10 people saying English sparkling wine is their go to drink this Christmas.
