Cafe Mama and Sons Delivery Review
I always struggle to decide what to make myself for lunch, so when we were offered a delivery from Cafe Mama and Sons, I knew this was the perfect solution.
Recently opened in Kentish Town, Cafe Mama and Sons is a vibrant all-day spot, blending Filipino heritage with global inspiration — serving specialty drinks like the iconic ube latte and snake fruit soda, alongside house-made Japanese sandos with bold twists like jerk chicken and adobo mushroom. With everything made in-house — from the pandesal buns to the sando fillings — it’s a true celebration of craft, culture, and community in the heart of Kentish Town.
Their breakfast menu is served daily from 9-12 and their meal deal includes tater tots and a drink of choice. We tasted a roll with sausage, egg and cheese and loved the side of crispy tater tots!
A menu of sandos is then available from 12-6pm and they offer a great selection including Jerk Chicken, Egg Salad, Corned Beef, Tuna Mayo and the Adobo Mushroom; which I tried. The mushrooms were juicy and perfectly complimented by the pesto sauce and whilst I’m not sure I’m a big fan of the slightly sweet toasted bread it was served in, the flavours were very tasty.
There is also an interesting drinks menu, with twists on different flavours. Whilst these weren’t to my taste, they had an extensive choice of matcha, tea and coffee blends; some of which were in virbant colours too.
For something sweet at the end, we tried the new Ube Mochi Croissant, shaped like a bow. Available for just £5.90, the flaky pastry showcases the rich, earthy tones of ube, perfectly complemented by a hint of vanilla in every bite. Each layer is brushed with a light sugar syrup and garnished with toasted coconut flakes. Get that satisfying cheese pull sensation when you rip open the purple layered pastry!
