Celebrate St Patrick’s Day in London
With St Patrick’s Day right around the corner, Londoners are looking for the best places to celebrate Irish music, culture and of course, drinks! Do you love a traditional Irish coffee, a creamy pint of Guinness or an Irish whisky? Read on to find out some of the most authentic Celtic pours.
Hidden speakeasy Archive & Myth has crafted the ‘Cold Irish’. Did you know that Irish Coffee was first created at Shannon Airport in the West of Ireland and perfected in San Francisco’s Buena Vista? The ‘Cold Irish’ uses Kinnahan’s Irish Whiskey Branca and is topped with a combination of vanilla, cream and ice cream. This gives it a rich, creamy flavour. It was so delicious, that if it wasn’t 9:30pm I would have had another one.
I love Archive & Myth, one of Soho’s newest bars. Upon entering the Hippodrome, head to the ornamental entry-code door and descend the stairs. Here you’ll find a bar with stool seating, and various plush nooks with brick and metal, dark wood accents and even a gramophone. Archive & Myth are known for their minor (half size- £11) cocktails, which also come in major (full size- £19). We had the Martini Mineraux comprised of Renais gin, Limestone, chablis and lemon oils. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about all their products. I’ve been a couple of times now and each time I’ve spent a lovely few hours in this beautifully sophisticated bar.

If you prefer a hot Irish Coffee, head to Swift Borough, near London Bridge. They are famous for their hot Irish coffees served with fresh whipped cream.
Homeboy in Islington celebrates Irish produce and offers home comforts with a healthy dose of Irish flavour. Here the cocktails show the versatility of Irish Whiskey, which was once the top-selling spirit in the world. Irish beers and Draught Guinness is also served. Homeboy is modern Irish hospitality with a soundtrack of hip-hop and RnB
Sun Tavern in Bethany Green celebrates the man who rid the Ireland of snakes with a céilí band before Oyster Boy will be dishing out oysters for absolutely free. Then Dublin’s finest Post-Punk quintet – The Murder Capital – takes to the stage.
If you’re not in London, then we still have you covered. Check out The Heart Cut’s limited edition Irish Whiskey, bottled in collaboration with traditional Irish whisky bonders, J.J. Corry.
