Ceru Soho Review

A few weeks ago, I was invited to a meeting at CERU, Soho. It was my first time visiting the restaurant which is a shame because it was an enjoyable evening of great food, great drinks and lovely company. CERU Soho opened following the success of CERU South Kensington.
Celebrating the traditional flavours of the Levant region by using a diverse and delicious range of Eastern Mediterranean ingredients, the whole menu caters to those who are gluten free (if you avoid the Greek pitta bread) whilst also offering plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans.
To start with we enjoyed the Three In One Dips (Houmous, Pancar – Roasted beetroot, yoghurt, garlic, crushed pistachio and Ceru Hammara – Tangy red pepper dip with walnuts and pomegranate molasses). All of these were flavoursome and I would have been happy to just keep eating these with the delicious greek flatbread.
In terms of mains we ordered a large number of sides, salads and small plates. Top dishes were definitely the Spiced Warm Cauliflower & Walnut Salad, Spice Battered Squid, Citrus Honey Spiced Chicken Wings
We washed our meal down with some delicious gin cocktails and it is safe to say the drinks menu is pretty amazing with the cocktails being absolutely delicious. Though its’ the CERU Pale Ale which is gluten free and vegan, that I can’t wait to share with our readers. Some of my best friends can’t have gluten so to find a restaurant that caters to them from the food to the drinks is pretty impressive. There’s also seasonal homemade lemonades made with fresh ingredients daily, such as the honey and basil lemonade or the spicy blackberry and mint lemonade.

CERU welcomes the early birds, night-goers and everyone in between; serving an all- day menu 7 days a week, the express lunch platter during the week which offers a 20 minute turnaround from a guest ordering the express platter – to it being served, or the meal is complementary.

The menu is designed to share – mezze style, so it’s a great place to visit with friends. I’ll definitely be back, this time making sure my gluten free friends come with me to ensure they get to try some of the delicious things CERU has to offer.

CERU Soho is located at 11 D’arblay Street
