Chicken Society Review

Chicken Society will be celebrating their one year anniversary this December and it’s easy to see why this popular restaurant in Finchley is hitting all the right spots. This rustic looking restaurant is devoted to chicken – you’ve got your pulled chicken, spit roasted chicken and buttermilk chicken. It’s like the Bubba Gump’s of Chicken.

We were starving by the time we arrived so ordered pretty much straight away. It didn’t help that the starters sounded divine. The Boneless buttermilk fried chicken with sweet and smoky bbq sauce the Pulled chicken nachos were mouth watering. Huge portion sizes so I’d recommend getting one to share between two people.

The BBQ Chicken Burger with Boneless buttermilk fried chicken, pulled chicken, smoked cheddar, BBQ sauce, brioche bun was huge. Now usually when it comes to burgers I can polish of the whole thing and still have room for fries and dessert. This wasn’t the case with this burger as it was way too big. Super tasty and that satisfying spicy crunch in the buttermilk, that brought a tear to my eye that I couldn’t finish it. Word of advice, if you want to devour this burger, skip the starters. Though it’s a catch 22 as the starters are fabulous – so just order everything and feed that food baby!

My friend’s main was a half portion of Southern Fried Chicken – Crisp, golden, fiery, with the perfect blend of herbs and spices. My friend was just as defeated by this mammoth portion as I was but the smile on his face when he knew he’d have left overs for the next day was huge. Especially as he got to take home Mac & Cheese, Coleslaw and Sweet Potato Fries with his chicken. This American style resturant is living up to America’s standards that ‘bigger is better.

To finish off our meal, we had to share a Chicken Society’s Brownie – The daily Brownie Changes regularly and it’s worth going back for this. Rich, gooey and utterly decadent, it was the perfect way to end the meal.

Chicken Society had a great atmosphere, fantastic food and great service. So what are you waiting for? Get on down there now!
