Christmas Cocktails At The Lucky Pig Review
Tucked away down a staircase on Clipstone Street, The Lucky Pig is Fitzrovia’s intimate late‑night cocktail bar with a speakeasy soul.
Step inside and you’re transported to a clandestine world of peeling wallpaper, prohibition posters, and mismatched vintage furniture. Retro lampshades cast a warm glow over semi-private seating areas or cozy alcoves with leather seating. The wooden bar stretches invitingly along one wall. It feels like a hidden gem that’s always been there.
The atmosphere is perfectly suited to themed nights and private parties. On our visit, a 1920s‑style birthday group arrived just as we were leaving, and it was easy to imagine the space hosting their celebration. The bar embraces this aesthetic, having held a 1920s murder mystery night in November (see here) and a similar event planned for the new year.

The Lucky Pig’s Christmas cocktail menu offers nine festive creations plus two mocktails, all crafted with premium ingredients (£15 for cocktails, £10 for mocktails). Choosing was no easy task, so we leaned on the staff’s expert recommendations. The majority of the cocktail names are Christmas themed such as Gingerbread Sour or the Mulled Wine Sour, or play on words like fizz-rovia or merry margarita.
Anyone who knows me knows I love an Espresso Martini so of course I got the Merry Espresso Martini. A seasonal twist on my favourite classic it features Black Cow Christmas Spirit vodka, Mr Black Coffee liqueur and fresh coffee. It was rich and indulgent.
My friend had the Velvet Symphony made with Finlandia vodka, Bailey’s, Mozart chocolate cream liqueur, and Cointreau. It was also served with a small bar of chocolate – delicious. My friend described it as sweet, dessert‑like, and utterly satisfying.

Given we were in Fitzrovia how could we resist the recommendation of the Festive Fizz‑Rovia. This is made with Black Cow Christmas Spirit vodka, rose syrup, cranberry juice, Campari, and prosecco. This was a cheerful fizz with the floral notes lifted by a sprig of rosemary garnish. A clever season twist is the Rose‑Merry Margarita. The Rosemary‑smoked mezcal brings depth and its signature smokiness, whilst the rosemary syrup and grenadine bring sweetness. The blush‑pink in tone of both these adds glamour and playfulness, perfect for a speakeasy setting where the low lighting makes the drinks pop visually.
The Knees‑Up Negroni with Rives sloe gin, Campari, and Martini Riserva Rubino provided a bold, bittersweet finish. Served over clear ice in a tumbler and garnished with a twist of lemon, its deep ruby hue feels perfectly in tune with the Christmas theme. A good choice for those who like their cocktails classic but with a seasonal touch.

The mocktails aren’t an afterthought — they’re crafted with the same care and premium ingredients as the cocktails. My friend had the Ravens Winter – Orgeat syrup, sour cherry molasses, citrus juices, ginger ale, garnished with dried orange.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with enthusiasm. Their recommendations hit the mark, and their warmth added to the bar’s welcoming vibe.
Early on a Saturday night in December, the atmosphere was relaxed enough for conversation. Throughout December DJs will keep the energy high every night.
With its quirky speakeasy décor, festive cocktail menu, and attentive staff, The Lucky Pig is a perfect spot for seasonal celebrations or simply a cozy night out. Whether you’re after a clandestine corner for conversation or a lively evening with DJs, this Fitzrovia hideaway delivers charm in spades.
Why not step into 2026 at The Lucky Pig? Taking place on Wednesday 31st December, from 8pm to 4am, guests can expect sparkling cocktails, canapés, tarot card readings, photography, live jazz music and DJs. Tickets are £40 and include a welcome glass of champagne.
