We found ourselves at The Cock Tavern, a Victorian pub from the outside, but inside, it’s transformed into a modern and stylish pub with a young feel to it. The interior has a 60s-style living room vibe, featuring a circular hanging seat just like the one seen in Austin Powers, which is pretty cool.

It’s a ten minute walk from the Chelsea football stadium, a really easy place to find, and serves up a treat when it comes to Sunday roasts. We went last Sunday to try out their roasts, which is served from 12pm. The Sunday roast menu has several British grazing plates and pub classics. We had the aubergine with red peppers and avocado and the mashed avocado on toast to start with, which tasted incredible, the ingredients were fresh and it had a nice home cooked feel to it.

The Cock Tavern offers a choice of five different roasts, we opted for the British 21- day aged sirloin of beef which was succulent and tender, it came with a homemade horseradish sauce, complimenting the roast nicely. The second roast we had was the lemon, thyme and mustard chicken with stuffing. I honestly can say the chicken was well marinated and the chicken was succulent, no dry chicken served here! It came with roasted potatoes, a giant Yorkshire pudding, honey roasted carrots, cauliflower, cabbage and gravy.

Best of all the portions are very generous and just for just £14.50, it’s worth every penny.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and chilled, the music played on the day was mostly Reggae which is great while digging into a roast on a lazy Sunday. Next time you’re Looking for a Sunday roast consider The Cock Tavern, it comes highly recommended. Another great thing for us was how looked after we were by the staff, we observed the way they were with other customers and it was the same friendly vibe, and we can certainly see why they have so many regulars.
