Dine Out On A Budget This January

It’s that time of year where I want to keep eating good food but without the expensive price tag, so I’m sharing some of the discounted eats I’ve stumbled upon for you all to try.


Cocotte, multiple sites

Cocotte – the premium but affordable rotisserie chicken restaurant in London – has announced a NEW mid-week offer launching in the New Year to stave off the January blues. With five sites across Notting Hill, Shoreditch, South Kensington, Parsons Green and Richmond, Cocotte is making one of the biggest food trends from 2025 more affordable going into 2026. The new Set Menu offer is available from 5pm every Sunday to Thursday. For only £20, diners can grab 1 starter, ¼ chicken, 1 side and 1 sauce, and with so many options to choose from, diners can enjoy something new every time they go back. Upgrade the Set Menu to include a dessert for only £4 and enjoy the Pear Frangipane Tart, Vanilla Crème Brûlée or Vegan Choc Chip Cookie.

Sam’s Riverside, Hammersmith

Sam’s Riverside, the very popular brasserie on the river overlooking the Hammersmith Bridge, celebrates lunch with two courses for £26.50 and three for £31.50. The offer is available Monday – Friday for lunch, and Monday to Thursday from 5pm – 6:30pm for the early dinner eaters. 

For starters, choose from the Wild Mushroom Soup with a Parsley Oil, a Cured Seabream with Citrus and Shaved Fennel or a Chorizo Picante with Crispy Polenta and Chive Mayonnaise. For mains, the Grilled Rump Steak with Autumn Vegetables and Truffle is a popular choice. Alternatively, go for the Roast Cod with Spinach, Tomato and Basil or the Pumpkin Girasole with Brown Butter, Hazelnut and Sage. And for dessert, Sam’s Tiramisu is on offer, or diners can choose the Phoenix Farm Quince and Apple Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream and Affogato. 

KOKUM, East Dulwich

This January, KOKUM, in East Dulwich, is giving curry lovers even more reason to visit with its exclusive Curry Club offer. Diners can enjoy buy one curry and get the second curry half price when they mention the phrase “KOKUM Curry Club” either when booking or ordering once sealed. The offer applies across the entire curry menu, allowing guests to explore KOKUM’s bold and comforting flavours, from the rich Lamb Shank Nihari to the fiery Pork Vindaloo, or the vibrant Makrut Lime Prawn. It’s the perfect excuse to share, sample, and savour some of KOKUM’s signature dishes this January.

The Mayfair Chippy

Although Christmas will soon be over, at The Mayfair Chippy the celebrations continue. Determined to maximise their 10th year celebrations, the restaurant is taking a step back in time and will be selling their Mayfair Classic for £13.50-  the exact price it was in November 2015 when they first opened their doors. Made using only responsibly sourced fish with the option of Haddock or Hake and complete with chips, mushy peas, tartar and either curry sauce or HP; this is the nation’s favourite dish and a Mayfair Chippy Classic for good reason.  Available at their Knightsbridge restaurant (138 Brompton Rd, London SW3 1HY)  until January 31st and normally priced at £26.50, its the kind of sale purchase your wallet will thank you for! This offer is available Sunday – Wednesday for tables of up to 4x.

Belly

If you’re looking for the finest quality food without breaking the bank this January, head to Belly in Kentish Town for their week night dining offer. The celebrated bistro with a Filipino twist from restaurateur Omar Shah opened last year to much acclaim, scooping up the prestigious accolade of Time Out’s best new opening. From Wednesday – Friday, guests can book a counter table 1hr sitting before 6pm and enjoy a bowl of Mussels, Belly’s celebrated Seafood Caldereta stew and a side of beef fat fries, as well as a glass of house wine, all for £27. Pop in after work, catch up with a friend or simply treat yourself to an elevated solo dining experience. Expect warm hospitality, rustic charm and fusion food bursting with flavour. Table must be booked in advance.

Doughnation, Covent Garden

To brighten up the January blues, head to Doughnation at 3 Henrietta Street in Covent Garden to indulge in their Bottomless Pizza and Spritzes offer. For a full hour, guests can enjoy unlimited pizzas and pitchers of spritz for just £35pp. The offer is available on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, making it the perfect option for work drinks, get-togethers to celebrate the weekend, or a Sunday with friends or family. Pizzas include Doughnation’s classic Margherita, Pepperoni, Spicy Nduja Sausage or Covent Garden Vegan. And to wash down the pizza – there is Doughnation’s refreshing selection of spritzes. Guests can choose from the Il Botanista Spritz with Aperol, Gin, Prosecco Soda and Elderflower, the increasingly popular Hugo Spritz, or Doughnation’s Grapefruit and Rosemary Spritz, with gin, prosecco and grapefruit soda. 

Pivot, Covent Garden

With theatres slashing their prices in January, there is no better time to book show – and indulge in an affordable pre-theatre dinner too. Pivot – the British Bar and Bistro on the second floor of 3 Henrietta Street – offers a delightful pre-theatre menu, with three courses for £38 or two for £32, carefully curated by award-winning Chef Mark Greenway (voted #160 among the top 300 chefs in the world).Starters include a Scottish smoked salmon with capers and shallots, or confit chicken terrine with hazelnuts and piccalilli; and for mains guests can indulge in cod loin with herb sauce or Minute steak with peppercorn sauce and fries. A berry pavlova or delectable chocolate mousse with amarena cherry round off on a sweet note.

Xi Home

Xi Home is launching a series of Luxe Noodle Specials, available for discounted prices on week day lunchtimes. Kick off the week with Green Bean and Pork Jewel Noodles with pork, red chilli, green beans, tofu, carrot and shiitake mushroom, available on Mondays for £11.88. Keep it simple on Tuesdays with Hunan-Style Stir-Fry Pork Noodles, with juicy pork and red and green chilli (£11.88). On Wednesdays and Thursdays, enjoy Tomato Sour Broth Beef Noodles with tomato, beef, red chilli and coriander (£13.50), perfect to warm you through on cold January days. And on Fridays, to finish the week on a spicy note, indulge in Heritage Chilli-Oil Splash Noodles (£11.88). These offers are available at the Spitalfields site between 12pm and 3:30pm, so head down this Jan for amazing noodles at even better prices.

Harry’s, multiple sites

Harry’s has just launched a fantastic value set menu called the La Dolce Vita Menu, you can see the full menu HERE. The menu is great value, with 2 courses for £23.95 and 3 courses for just £27.95, available from 11am – 6.30pm from Sunday – Friday.

La Dolce Vita set menu is the perfect way to enjoy a little Italian escape without leaving the city, to brighten up your January!

Farzi London, Charing Cross

This January, Michelin recognised and Modern Indian restaurant, Farzi, is offering a platter also known as ‘Thali’ of North Indian dishes for £18.95 per person. Each Thali includes an assortment of Spinach and Kale Chaat, Chana Chickpea Masala and Vegetable Samosa accompanied with steamed rice or naan, raita, papadom and mango chutney. You can also choose one main from Farzi’s traditional Chicken Tikka Masala, slow braised lamb burry, paneer butter masala or mixed veg kadhai curry. Each Thali also includes a Parle-G cheesecake. Available Monday – Saturday, 12pm-3pm up to six people.

OR, enjoy 30% off the whole a la carte menu until 31st January. Tuck into your favourite dishes such as the Farzi favourite Chicken Tikka Masala, the warming spicy cauliflower, of the slow cooked Lamb Mangsho, all for 30% off throughout January. Riviera, Mayfair

Step into Riviera and experience the charm of southern France without leaving London. Available daily from 12–5pm, the Côte d’Azur-inspired set lunch menu features elegant dishes like veal ragù rigatoni, Riviera sea bass, and truffle and goat cheese stuffed courgette flower in tempura. Choose one course for £19, two for £34, or all three for £41. A sun-soaked taste of the Côte d’Azur, served with style in Mayfair.
