Divine Proportions Review

I love immersive theatre, but add immersive dining into that equation and you know I’m going to enjoy every minute of.  Shotgun Carousel has created the erotic, provocative, deliciously divine, gender-bending theatrical dinner cabaret that will have you partying the night away into the early hours of the morning.

Wednesday night we joined Dionysus, God of Wine and Merriment to indulge in a night of fine dining, drinking and debauchery. It was absolutely amazing and from the minute we entered we were drawn into the world of the Gods. The God themed cocktails surely helped, especially the Ambrosia and the Midas Touch cocktails. They certainly were divine!

In terms of food, the Greek mythology inspired menu was absolutely amazing with our mains and our desserts being the standout courses. Though to be fair, the entire menu was indulgent and there were many an empty plate on our table. Vegans don’t worry about missing out, there is also a fully Vegan menu available.

It was the cabaret, however, that really won us over while dining in ‘Mount Olympus’. Dionysus, Persephone, Aphrodite took us on a journey of opulence and depravity which had everyone swearing allegiance to the Greek Gods. It is always a pleasure seeing a cast absolutely enjoying their roles and becoming the characters they are embodying.

After dinner we were transported to the depths of The Underworld, where we further indulged in cocktails and partied the night away to the early hours of the morning. Tickets cost £35 to £55 and include five-course banquet. Tickets are on sale until the 12th January 2019 with many being sold out, you  hurry up and book now. This is a show you won’t want to  miss. It’ll certainly be a night you won’t regret.
