How we celebrated National Tequila Day

To celebrate National Tequila Day on July 24th, Swingers London launched  a limited-edition Casamigos Tequila cocktail menu, available for guests to enjoy across both venues from 23rd to 25th July.

I love drinking cocktails, so I was super excited to be invited to the cocktail masterclass preview of the cocktail menu with Casamigos. Tequila based cocktails are definitely a firm favourite. For those who don’t know Casamigos is 100% Blue Weber agave tequila founded by George Clooney and Rande Gerber. Their idea was to create the best tasting smoothest tequila that doesn’t need salt or lime and they did just that! This quality tequila made all the difference to the cocktails we made.

We were guided by an expert mixologist who showed us key techniques such as how to shake, stir, strain and garnish.

The cocktails included:

  • George of the Jungle – Casamigos Blanco, banana liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, tonka bean
  • Spicy Tommy’s Margarita -Casamigos Tequila, lime juice, agave, jalapeno
  • Casamigos Negroni – Casamigos Tequila, Campari, Antica Formula
  • Casamigos Espresso Martini – Casamigos Tequila, Casacbel Coffee, espresso, agave
  • Casamigos El Diablo – Casamigos Tequila, crème de cassis, lime juice, ginger beer

My favourite was George of the Jungle which had me feeling like I was on holiday in a tropical destination. I would also recommend trying the Casamigos Negroni and the Jalapeno Tommy’s Margarita, which are great twists on popular cocktails. The perfect accompaniment to our drinks was the delicious Breddos tacos. I was really impressed with the flavours, my favourites being the masa fried chicken and beef short rib barbacoa.

The cocktails clearly helped to improve my ‘swing’ as I managed to win the 9 hole round of crazy golf that we played after, but unfortunately no hole in ones! We played the Helter Skelter course, which had jumps, loops and moving obstacles including a big wheel and helter skelter, naturally. Caddies were on hand to provide drinks whilst we played which was an added bonus. It was a great way to spend an otherwise dull Wednesday!

Visit the crazy golf club as they will be serving the five exciting cocktails we mentioned above, priced at £16 for two to mark the occasion – all of which guests can enjoy whether playing a round of crazy golf or not.
