KIN Review
Vegan food is often still perceived as boring and dull, but dining at KIN on Foley St proves that this pre-conception couldn’t be more wrong.
Based in Fitzrovia, KIN has both a restaurant and a cafe – one serving vegetarian and vegan daytime snacks and treats, and the other serving a carefully curated fully plant-based menu.
We were invited to try the main restaurant, where the menu is made up of appetisers, small plates and large dishes, as well as a selection of cocktails.
We both ordered a pomegranate margarita whilst we looked over the menu and decided what to order.
To start, we ordered the Ponzu Roasted Cabbage, Broad Bean Croquettes, the Sticky Cashew Tofu and Truffle Barley Risotto. All of the dishes were beautifully presented and had a mix of colours and textures, including really smooth dips and bases. For mains, we shared the Cauliflower Steak & Butter Bean Puree and the delicious Courgette & Pistachio Spaghetti.
Everything we tried was so light and full of flavour, and really proves that vegan food doesn’t have to be boring. I’d recommend all of the dishes we ate, and will have to go back to visit the café another day!
